8 September 2026 | James Village, Nchewu, Malawi
“Water is life, and providing water is providing hope.”
On 8 September 2026, a significant milestone was reached in James Village, Nchewu, Malawi, as the community water borehole and hand pump project was officially opened and handed over.
What makes this project particularly meaningful is not only the water that was found, but the journey that came before it.
The project began with a simple but important objective: to provide a reliable source of water for the local community, including the nearby masjid.
A Journey That Tested Perseverance
The first drilling attempt was undertaken near the masjid. The intention was for the borehole to serve the masjid while also benefiting the wider community.
However, the drilling continued to almost 80 metres without achieving the desired result.
Faced with this challenge, the team had to make a difficult decision.
Rather than abandoning the project, they relocated approximately 300 metres away from the masjid and began a second drilling attempt.
It was here that the project finally turned a corner.
At the second location, water was encountered at approximately 30 metres, and drilling continued to approximately 45 metres.
A hand pump was subsequently installed, providing the community with a new and accessible water source.
Alhamdulillah.
A Moment of Joy for James Village
The official opening on 8 September 2026 brought together members of the local community, elders, project representatives and children who gathered around the newly completed water point.
For the people of James Village, this was more than the completion of infrastructure.
It was a moment of hope.
The community had previously relied on the river for their water needs, making access to a dedicated water source an important development in their daily lives.
The sight of families and children gathered around the newly installed hand pump captured the true purpose of the project: serving people and improving lives.

A Partnership Built on Giving
The James Village Water Borehole Project was undertaken by Discover Its Beauty, in conjunction with Jannah Investment Funds.
We express our sincere gratitude to Jannah Investment Funds for their support and commitment towards ensuring the success of this project.
Special appreciation also goes to everyone who contributed, supported, facilitated and made du’a for this initiative.
Projects such as these demonstrate what can happen when organisations, donors and communities come together with one common purpose: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
When the First Attempt Doesn’t Work
Perhaps one of the most powerful lessons from the James Village project is that success does not always come with the first attempt.
The first drilling location did not produce the intended result.
But the project did not stop there.
The team reassessed the situation, moved to another location and tried again.
The second attempt succeeded.
This journey reminds us that a setback is not necessarily the end of a mission. Sometimes it is simply another step towards finding the right solution.
Every Drop Carries a Story
A water project can continue benefiting a community long after the people who funded and completed it have moved on.
Every person who draws water from this borehole, every family that benefits from it and every child who grows up knowing that this water source is available represents another chapter in its story.
For the donors and supporters, we pray that this project becomes a source of Sadaqah Jariyah—an ongoing charity whose benefit continues beyond the initial act of giving.
May Allah accept every contribution and every effort.
May He reward those who made this project possible.
And may every drop of water drawn from this borehole be a means of reward for everyone involved.
Officially Opened — 8 September 2026
The James Village Water Borehole Project now stands as a symbol of perseverance, partnership and community service.
From the first attempt near the masjid, to drilling almost 80 metres, to relocating 300 metres away, to finally finding water at approximately 30 metres—the journey was challenging, but the outcome was worth it.
Alhamdulillah, the water is flowing.
And with it comes a new source of hope for the people of James Village.

Discover Its Beauty would like to sincerely thank Jannah Investment Funds, the local team, the community of James Village, our supporters and all those who contributed towards making this project a reality.
May Allah place barakah in this water, benefit the people of James Village through it, and accept this project as a lasting form of charity.
One project.
One community.
One source of water.
A legacy that can continue for years to come.
